How to Remove Paint Stain From Your Rug

There may be times when you’re remodeling your house and accidentally spill paint on your rug. Or maybe your children took it upon themselves to paint a portion of the carpet. Equipment Needed

WD-40  │  Water  │  Razor blade  │  Terry Cloth  │  Mild dish detergent

Steps 

  1. Use WD-40

    Before you begin using the WD-40 to remove the paint stain from the rug begin by using a razor blade to clean up any dried paint left over.

    After applying the WD-40 on the area to try and soften it and work the stain with a cloth and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

  2. Scrub the stained area

    Use your muscles and your clean cloth to scrub the area where you applied the WD-40.

    Now you have removed most part of the paint from your rug and you can use a little dishwashing liquid on the area to clean up any WD-40 that remains. 

  3. Air drying

    Let your air dry on both sides before setting it back down in its proper place.
