Pet Feces

STAIN REMOVAL GUIDE: Pet Feces

Fecal stains are probably the last type of stain you want tainting your rug. However, pet accidents do happen and it’s important that you react in a timely manner. Follow these simple steps in order to restore your rug to its former beauty!

“The longer it sits, the more likely it is that the feces stains your carpet permanently!”

1. Equipment Needed

White Vinegar  │  Water  │  Ammonia  │   Baking soda  │  Terry Cloth  │  Mild dish detergent

2. Steps

1.

First, as stated before, react. Do not let the pet feces sit on your rug. The longer it sits the likelier it is that the waste stains your carpet permanently.

2.

You’re going to want to remove as much of the fecal matter as you can with a towel, being sure not to apply too much pressure.

3.

Next, you’ll need non-bleach dish soap and white vinegar. Mix the two with warm water and pour the mixture on top of the affected area. Then, carefully blot at the same, being sure not to scrub it, as you don’t want to spread the feces around the rug.

4.

After blotting the carpet, pour a small amount of cold water over the area

5.

Finally, pour a small amount of baking soda over the area. After letting it sit for some time, you may vacuum up the baking soda. The baking soda will aid in removing the odor from the rug. If the stain does not disappear, you may repeat the process until desired removal is reached.
