When it comes to white wine or champagne stains they can pretty much happen at any event such as birthdays, weddings, parties.
That’s why it is one of the most common stains that you will need to know how to remove and the steps that are involved.
Below we have outlined the most beneficial way to get rid of white wine or champagne stain and getting your rug looking brand new again!
“Avoid lifting your rug if you cannot treat the white wine stain right away”
Acetum: Mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with water — not hot water. Acetum (which is a moderate acid) found in vinegar can be purchased at your grocery or drug store.
Detergent: Mix 1 teaspoon of detergent with 2 cups of warm water and again not hot water. When a white wine spill happens, smear immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel.
The next step is to flood the stain with water by rinsing the area with clean water. This will begin to dilute the sugars in the wine that can cause the fibers in your rug to attract more dirt and grime.
Now blot the area with your white cloth or paper towel until there is no more moisture present in the rugs fibers.
Allow the rug to dry and make sure to keep it away from direct heat. Also avoid lifting the rug if you cannot treat the white wine stain right away.
