Painting your nails might be easy, well for some but removing the stain it leaves can prove to be a real problematic stain! When it comes to nail polish the typical cleaning methods may not work as well as you would like, by following our steps outlined below you will be on your way to a nail polish free rug! 

 If you would like to use baking soda as an alternative method sprinkle it over the area to cover it thoroughly.

1. Equipment Needed

Plain Vinegar  │  Water  │  Butter Knife  │  Baking soda  │  Terry Cloth 

2. Steps

Begin by removing any leftover nail polish by using your butter knife.

Wet the stained area completely with plain vinegar and then place a paper towel soaked with vinegar also on top of the area and let it sit for ten minutes.

Scrub very gently now once the vinegar has had a chance to sit and then rinse the area with water or another wet clean cloth.

 If you would like to use baking soda as an alternative method sprinkle it over the area to cover it thoroughly.

Then use some ginger ale and pour it on top of the area and let it soak for ten minutes. You can then scrub gently to remove the rest of the stain and rinse with cool water.

 Lastly prop the rug up so that both sides can dry properly.
