Most of pieces are long-piled. Lustrous yarn and fine wool of the area has world-reputation.
Borujirds are found only in rug and runners sizes. 100×150 and 120×180 are favored rug sizes.

Designs and patterns of the Borujerd rugs

Rectilinear-patterned designs with both all-over and central medallion bases are attributed to Borujerd. Similar to neighboring Nahavand and southern Hamadan rug area, these Borujerds are woven in the style of American Saruq but a bit more rustic than Saruq pieces. Rather large geometric floral patterns adorn the grounds of such pieces.Saraband pieces which are gathered also in Borujerd have all-over deigns made exclusively with repeats of boteh. This group belongs to Kurdish designs of neighboring Kermanshah.
