“Philanthropy can be broadly defined as love for humankind and it is derived from the Greek words “Philos,” which means loving and “Anthropos,” which means humankind. A person who practices philanthropy is called a philanthropist and the purpose of philanthropy is to improve the well being of humankind by preventing and solving social problems.
Light & Wisdom Foundation
Light and Wisdom, a foundation in Kerman, created and founded by David Khazai and Mr. Mansouri, has been supporting blind work since 2014. The foundation teaches blind men and women from 20 to 50 years old how to weave rugs on a loom by using a custom-made coding system.
This system was built with two key idea philosophies in mind, and those philosophies are: using the SMART system and also having FOCUS. SMART, is referring to Specifically, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely, while FOCUS is referring to Finding, [an] Original, Creative, Unique, Solution.
A platform was specifically designed for these two categories of people. Those two categories are the educated; those able to read braille and the uneducated; those unable to read braille. However, those unable to read braille resulted in having to use alternative methods instead, thus giving unique purpose for the system created by the founders of Light and Wisdom.
The uneducated were instructed to become familiar with specific objects and each object relating to a color or type of weaving instruction. So far, this is proven to be successful. The masterpieces produced by these people are none less than amazing, and one would think unbelievable. Purely remarkable
