STAIN REMOVAL GUIDE: Grass

Home just wouldn’t be home without a laundry hamper full of grass stained kids clothes.  The green pigment comes from the chlorophyll which is responsible for absorbing sunlight and turning it into energy for the it.  They also contain chemical compounds called carotenoids and xanthophylls, which are also pigmented.  The washing machine works great for those.  But what if the stains get on your Wool Rug?  Take a deep breath, don’t panic, and follow these simple steps.

1. Equipment Needed

Clean Terry Cloth  │  Isopropyl Alcohol  │  White Vinegar, Woolite  │  Water

2. Steps

Vacuum stained area to ensure no debris or small grass pieces are still on rug, feel free to use handheld vacuum attachment to penetrate deep within the pile of the rug

2.

Make a thick mixture of water and Woolite, and gently rub into stain with a stiff brush.

3.

4.

If any remnant of stain remains, blot the area with a clean cloth and Isopropyl alcohol.

5.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 until stain has lifted.
